A LITTLE ABOUT US
We bought our little 5+ acre farm in Fort Blackmore, Virginia, three years ago. Since then, we've added a greenhouse, built a chicken coop and are raising mostly heritage breed, free-roaming chickens. We are about to embark on our newest adventure and hope to start our herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats this spring. We love our little piece of paradise, with our spring-fed creek, our spring house (which according to the local old-timers has been here 50+ years), our hillside where we'll plan to build a rustic cabin some day, and all the area we use to garden and build our little farmstead. We are outdoor people who enjoy the hard work and hope our children and grandchildren can learn and enjoy the simple pleasures in life. |
Fort Blackmore is located in the Appalachian Mountains in Southwest Virginia. We're about 20 minutes from Kingsport, TN, an hour from Middlesboro, KY, and about and hour and a half from Asheville, NC.
